Utterly Disgusting…

January 24th, 2008 |

I absolutely love animals, so it’s no surprise that I subscribe to a Peta newsletter. The one I got today was just…I don’t know. Words don’t do justice to what I’m feeling right now. It’s a mixture of heartache for these animals and anger towards anyone who mistreats helpless animals. Here is the newsletter I received today.

Dear Tina,

Video footage from a new PETA undercover investigation reveals horrific conditions for small animals and birds who are bred and brokered by a major supplier to PetSmart.

At Rainbow World Exotics in Hamilton, Texas—a massive breeding mill and one of PetSmart’s main animal suppliers—PETA’s investigator documented that live animals were thrown into the trash, were deprived of desperately needed veterinary care, were suffering and dying alone in their cages, and were cannibalizing each other. The investigator also found that rabbit neuter surgeries were crudely performed by a layperson in a filthy, dark room using Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to wipe blood off of the rabbits’ fresh, raw incisions.

Click here to learn more about where PetSmart’s animal victims are bred and to tell PetSmart to end live-animal sales today!

Also, please forward this message to others who might be willing to lend their voices to this important issue. You can watch the Today Show segment about this investigation here.

Thank you for your compassion for animals.

Sincerely,

Daphna Nachminovitch, Vice President
Cruelty Investigations Department
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals

I still can’t believe people can treat animals this way. It’s horrible!! If you click on the “click here” link, you can read the rest about the investigation. There is also a very disturbing video. If you have a weak stomach, I’m sure you will throw up. It really is that disturbing. Please voice your opinions and tell PetSmart to end live-animal sales today by sending in the message shown at the bottom of that link.

People like this need to be stopped. No words can describe what I want to do to these people who hurting innocent small animals. If you don’t believe the cruelty people have, watch the video.

RIP Heath Ledger

I still can’t believe he is gone…dead at only 28 years old. I am in complete shock over this because he was such a fabulous actor. Seriously, I want to cry because he will surely be missed by many worldwide.

Ladies, want to get out of debt?

January 1st, 2008 |

Then you should of watched the Montel Williams Show with the episode called “The Modern Girls Guide To $uccess“. It was honestly off the hook and filled with inspiration!!

They had many tips on how to start your own business, reach the financial freedom you desire, and even how to overcome your fear of getting things done. It was amazing and honestly just wants me to get out there and find something I thrive in, so I can make it a business. They even featured a fellow blogger from “The Mommy Millionaire Next Door”.

Some great tips I learned include:

  • Don’t spend more than your making.
  • Earn money, save some, spend a little, and invest.
  • Cut up those credit cards because it’s bound to lead you into debt (soooooo true!!).
  • Don’t let fear control your desire to open your own business.
  • Research, get a mentor, and then make a business plan.
  • Don’t be afraid to calculate how much you spend & how much debt you have.
  • Calculate how much you could potentially save if you didn’t spend on certain things (ie: coffee everyday, cab/bus fair, clothing, eating out, etc).
  • You’ll be surprised at what you calculate!!! Do it now!!…it’s crazy!!!!

There were so many other great tips that they said on the show but it’s hard to remember them all as this was aired a few weeks ago. But if you can, try to find it online somewhere or request a copy of the show. It was honestly THAT great!!

How To Spot A Fake

December 6th, 2007 |

Did any of you watch the Tyra Show yesterday? It was a real interesting episode where she had experts show the audience how to spot a fake handbag, weave, diamonds, and other things. It was an awesome episode in my opinion because it makes you aware of all the fake products out there that people are trying to sell. It’s crazy and I’m sure many people have fell into the trap.

Just some tips I learned from the show:

  • Feel the product.
  • Does the inside feel/look cheap?
  • Check to see if there is any lose stitching or threads.
  • If it’s a designer bag and it’s less than $200, it’s too good to be true.

I couldn’t find a glimpse from the show on Youtube, but I did find another video from the Today Show where they investigate counterfeit luxury merchandise online. Take a look below.

She’s the bomb

Alicia Keys has it all. Her music is absolutely amazing!! All her songs are down to earth and meaningful. Here’s her video of a great song that’s on her album called “As I Am” that comes out this month. The song is called “No One”.
