Time is flying!

March 5th, 2008 |

Can you believe it’s already March? Geeze…time is really flying this year. Pretty soon it’ll be the summer time and then back to fall and Halloween…which is my favourite time of the year.

Aww…Halloween…I miss it already because I absolutely love that time of the year. Don’t forget to start looking for those sexy costumes early this year. I’m sure most of us are going to awesome Halloween parties. I hope to go to one that is hosted by a local ghost hunting community.

I know that would be totally exciting!!

Children can have resolutions too!!

January 4th, 2008 |

Have you ever tried to explain what new year resolutions are to your children? It’s a great time to start! They too can be setting resolutions and you can encourage them.

Here are some resolutions you could talk to your children about.

  • no fast food for a year
  • eat veggies with every dinner
  • read a children’s book daily or weekly
  • join and participate with playing a sport
  • take up a new hobby (drawing, photography, etc)
  • start a fund raiser and collect clothes & toys to give to the less fortunate

Don’t forget to reward them at the end of the year if they accomplish any of their goals. Good luck with the new year resolutions!!

My resolutions & goals

January 4th, 2008 |

Yup…it’s 2008 already! Crazy how time flies by. This year should be exciting has I have a few events to look forward to. I also have some resolutions/goals I want to accomplish. Hopefully I’ll be able to do them.

Events to take place in 2008:

  • nephew baptism
  • sister’s wedding later this year

My new year resolutions:

  • get a full time job
  • move out into my own place
  • try to better my health
  • embrace God in my life

Other things I want to accomplish:

  • write more poetry
  • make my own rosary
  • spend less money on Ebay
  • further develop my photography portfolio
  • save at least $10,000 by the end of the year

Ya…the last one there is what I just thought about right now. I suck at saving money and have serious issues with that since I like to spend all the money I earn. So that is a realistic goal I have set for myself because I usually take money out of my savings to pay for things instead of using it to save. *sigh* …and yes I have chequings accounts for spending too, so I need to get in a habit of using my savings account only for saving money.

Merry Christmas!

New Year’s Resolutions

December 21st, 2007 |

As I was mentioning in my previous post about changes in 2008, many people will make their new years resolution as becoming more healthy and losing weight.

Not only will they need to exercise and use machines like an exercise bike, gazelle glider, or even a treadmill, but they will also have to watch their diet. Nutrition is very important because as the saying goes, “You are what you eat.”

So what’s your new year’s resolution?

Tis the season to be jolly…

December 15th, 2007 |

I love the holiday season. It just great seeing most people get in the mood of giving. The only thing I don’t like is the long line ups at department stores and the snotty people who think they own certain aisles and won’t let you pass.

Other than that it’s great. Listening to Christmas carols, fireplace sizzling, wrapping gifts, and baking goodies just makes Christmas all that much more special. The majority of us who have loving homes are probably experiencing that right now.

What about those who are less fortunate? They must be having a tough time. So please remember, donate any goods you have, volunteer at a shelter, buy some toys for little children, and just spread a little Christmas cheer. It goes a long way.

My Christmas Tree

I was snapping photos yesterday and ended up taking pictures of my Christmas tree. I put on the lights and was able to take this shot of it lighten up. Pretty isn’t it?

Top 10 Toys For Boys & Girls

December 3rd, 2007 |

I was browsing the web this afternoon and came across the top 10 toys for boys and the top 10 toys for girls.

This certainly is something every parent should look at if you are unsure what to get your children this holiday season. Knowing kids, they’ve already made their Christmas list and have been snooping around the house looking for presents. Heehee…

So what’s the number one toy for each gender?

Girls - High School Musical DVD Game ($9.99 - $26.99)
Boys - Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee Action Figure ($79.99 - $149.99)

Check out both lists for other great gifts for your children this Christmas.

How much will you spend?

December 3rd, 2007 |

xmastoys.gifI was reading an article from the Toronto Star where it says that most Canadians will spend over $700 for gifts this holiday season. What a huge number that is! But when you start thinking about electronics, the majority of them are over $100 each, so I can see where that number comes from.

The article also says that over 70% of those surveyed will be getting their holiday gifts at Walmart. I guess I’m included there. A little more than half the gifts I got were indeed from Walmart. The rest was from shopping online at Ebay.ca and from my favourite store Futureshop.ca.dollarsanta.png

I have just been thinking about the amount I have spent so far. Let me calculate and give a rough estimate. I have estimated that I will be spending around $450 this holiday season. That’s not bad at all. Most of that money is from money I made online in which I say thanks to those companies I work with. It’s great having that extra cash to spend especially during the holiday season.

So how much have you estimated you’ll be spending this Christmas?

Don’t know what to get as a gift?

December 1st, 2007 |

If you haven’t looked at your calendar, Christmas it coming up in twenty five days!! Yes I know…it’s unbelievable considering it’s already December 1st!

So roll up your sleeves and hit the malls or online stores asap! If you’re looking to purchase something for someone who’s older and mature, you might want to check out this newsletter which features WineryToHome.com.

They give you great ideas on what to buy if you decide to get something wine related. They even have a Wine & Cheese Cookbook that would be a perfect gift for anyone.

Going Christmas Shopping

November 26th, 2007 |

I’m planning to go Christmas shopping later in the evening. I have a few more gifts to buy people in my family. I’m trying to focus on getting something for my parents, dog, and one of my sisters. Then I got some other gifts to get which will come soon.

I hate going shopping during the Christmas season. It’s just way too busy for me. No matter where you turn, you end up bumping into someone. Plus, half the stuff you want isn’t even available. I can’t wait until the holiday season is over.

There’s only one day I’m really looking forward to and that is Boxng Day. Even though the stores will be really crowded on that day, I’ll be happy because everything is on sale. LOL!

Black Friday Bargains

November 24th, 2007 |

So, most of you in the States probably went shopping for the Black Friday sales. Come on, let me know what you all splurged on!! I was going to cross the border so I can get some bargains too, but unfortunately no one in my family wanted to go. Of course I didn’t want to go alone. Where’s the fun in that? LOL!

Anyways, I can’t wait until December 26th. That’s our Canadian “Boxing Day”. It’s similar to your Black Friday where everything goes on sale and the malls are jammed pack. I’m soooo looking forward to it because I love shopping for bargains!!

Christmas Shopping

November 23rd, 2007 |

I have no clue when I’m gonna hit the malls again. I still have to get quite a few gifts. It doesn’t help with me being broke and all. Ugh…so not cool! Then the other day I finally figured out what to get my mom for Christmas. Knowing me I didn’t write it down. Now that I thought about it today, I can’t remember what it was!!!!

I’m actually quite ticked off right now. I can’t remember it. Argghhhhhh….so frustrating. Oh well, I’ll have to come up with something else unless I happen to remember what it was. I hate when this happens.

November 22nd, 2007 |
