Thinking about a few things

January 31st, 2008 |

I’ve been thinking about a lot of things over the past week. About what? Well, I’m debating whether or not I want to buy a car first or move out into my own apartment. Let me weigh my options here.

Getting my own apartment:

  • freedom
  • independence
  • get more pets
  • must pay rent + extras
  • bus everyday to work
  • need money to furnish place

Getting my own car:

  • freedom
  • independence
  • drive anywhere and to work
  • can make monthly payments
  • need to get insurance
  • need to finish my driver’s license

Hum….I’ve been thinking that one of the main reasons I wanted to move out on my own was to get more pets. Another reason was that I wanted to be able to work out and eat nutritious foods without family commenting about my decisions.

Now I’ve come to realize that if I get my own vehicle (would be a Mazda Tribute), I can easily sign up to a gym and be able to drive there on my own whenever I wanted to. Well we all know that you need exercise and a balanced diet to lose weight which is what I want.

If I get the vehicle instead, I can still live at home for the time being and still be able to have freedom and independence. The only thing I won’t be able to get is more pets since my parents don’t want any more pets in their house…which I understand completely because it is THEIR HOUSE!

I’m currently leaning towards getting my own vehicle because to me, it’ll be a lot cheaper than going to rent out a place. Yes I have to purchase it, have gas money, and also pay for insurance…but it would all be cheaper than spending $700+ a month for having my own place, paying utilities, and paying for other things like bus fair, internet, plus I would have to furnish the place too and who knows how much that could total to if I need furniture for every room.

So getting the vehicle seems like the logical choice in my mind. The best part is that I would be able to drive anywhere I wanted without having to ask someone for a ride or checking to see if a bus goes that route. The main reason I haven’t joined a gym yet is because of the fact that I have no transportation there. I don’t want to ask my family for a ride because I’m sure they think that wasting money for a gym membership is ridiculous, and who knows how many buses I would have to take to get there. Plus, I’m sure it would take at least 2 hours just to get to the gym I want to go to if I were to take the bus. So there is no point in doing that.

Okay…I love writing things out like this. It makes decisions soooo much more easier because I have come to realize what decision/goal I will work towards. Now I just have to learn to save my money in the meantime instead of spending it everytime I get it.

Plus, I have to complete my driver’s license around the spring time. Yes I know…I’m 22 years old without a full driver’s license. I do have my G1 which is that you’re allowed to drive with someone who has had their license for five years. I need my G2 in order for me to drive alone. Then I need to get my G which is basically having the whole package. You can drive whenever you want, anytime with anyone.

Ya I know…I should of got this way back when I was 16 years old like most people. The truth was that I was in a car accident with my older sister the year prior to me turning 16 which resulted in a little fear of driving. I didn’t feel ready to be able to drive around and handle the responsibilities of a vehicle. So now, being older and I guess a little wiser, I’m ready to start being more independence and get this show on the road. LOL!

Soooo Busy!!

January 29th, 2008 |

Wow…days are just flying by now without any time to make some real updates on all my blogs. It’s crazy how with getting a new job you can end up being so busy.

Not only am I busy with the new job, but my nephew is having him baptism too. I still have to get clothes to wear for that, plus buy him a gift. I went shopping the other day to look for some sort of gift I could give him, but there wasn’t really anything. I’m really stuck on ideas for that one because the only thing I can think of is some kind of gold jewelry. The problem with that is the fact that my parents and my other sister are most likely getting that for him. So that leaves me out still pondering.

It’s never been this difficult to come up with a gift. I thought of a nice plaque or picture frame, but seriously…where would that just end up? The plaque, probably put away in a box and the picture frame…well my sister has already complained that she has way too many picture frames up in her apartment. So those two options are out.

I can’t really get him toys because he doesn’t play with that stuff yet. The only thing I can think of is some clothes or things like diapers or formula. Stuff he’ll actually use. Argghhh…this is so frustrating!!

Any suggestions??

Popcorn Machine

January 27th, 2008 |

popcorn.jpgI’m not sure how many other fellow Canadians have airmiles, but I do. I absolutely love earning points and then being able to spend it on something worthwhile.

The one thing I would love to see added to the rewards are home theater popcorn machines. NOW that would be super cool!!!

I know you can easily buy them online or in the store, but getting them for FREE is much better LOL!! Oh well, for now I’ll just have to waste my airmile rewards on other things.

Traveling is fun!

January 27th, 2008 |

Traveling is something I love doing!! There are so many more places I want to visit in the next ten years.

The first is Japan. I’ve loved the Japanese culture since I was a kid and finally going there would be so thrilling and make my dreams come true.

There are a few other places like Portugal, Hawaii, Italy, and even the Outer Banks that I want to check out.

So what places would you love to visit??

Headaches due to my new job!

January 27th, 2008 |

For the majority of my life, I never really got a migraine or even headaches. Thus, I never had to take an aspirin or other kind of head medications.

Now that I started my new job, I have to do A LOT of talking on the phones and answering questions to people. I find myself coming home with a headache all the time now.

It’s really weird. I personally don’t like taking medication for anything and believe your body can heal itself, but man…these headaches are a pain in the ass and not something I’m used to.

Lucky for me, I have aspirin at home. I have a feeling that bottle will be used A LOT in the coming months.

Donate your extra car!!

January 27th, 2008 |

Want to be part of a worthy cause? Then why not donate your car, boat, plane, house, or even RV to CarAngel.com.

Why would I want to do that?
By donating one of the selected above, you are helping out those in need. At CarAngel.com they use the donated item to help with funding for preschool and grade school children from countries worldwide where poverty is a huge issue.

I think this is great. I’ve never heard of donating huge items like that which can help fund programs worldwide, but this seems really worthwhile. Why have the extra cars or boats that you are no longer using just sit out park or in your garage? There’s no need for it so give it to somewhere where it counts.

They also use some of the money raise to make videos for kids and teens. They have given away over 2.4 million videos. Check out one of the videos below.

Check it out and donate car today for such a great and worthy cause that will benefit many in struggling countries.

Life insurance for pets??

January 27th, 2008 |

As I mentioned in the post before, I’m getting older and older. I really wish there was some sort of life insurance for pets. I would love to get life insurance quotes.

You know, I’d name my best friend Tina as my beneficiary. She’s just amazing and always brightens up my days. If I had puppies, I would want them to gain something from my passing. It’s only logical but I don’t have none as of now.

Am I planning to in the future? I’m not sure. We’ll see if I find the perfect stud out there. *woof* *wink*

Health Problems with Pets

January 27th, 2008 |

There are so many health problems that both humans and animals can suffer from. One of them that I don’t think dogs get yet is fibromyalgia.

I can’t imagine having that nor would I want anyone in my human family to suffer from it. It seems like a very painful condition that requires a lot of help.

Like humans, dogs can suffer from weak joints. I suffer from that and have to take medication everyday because it seems to be getting worse with each passing year.

You know…I’ll be 10 years old (human years) next month. That’s 70 years old in dog years!! It’s a very long time but I’m enjoying life one day at a time. Don’t think that anything will slow me down. It’s quite the opposite, so WATCH OUT!! *woof*

Have a boat you don’t need?

January 27th, 2008 |

Well then donate it!! You can easily be part of a worthy cause and donate your car, boat, plane, house, or even RV to CarAngel.com.

If you donate, you are helping out those who are in need. CarAngel.com is a non-profit company that uses the donated item to help fund preschool and grade school children from countries worldwide where poverty exists.

This is awesome!! How so? Because I’ve never heard of donating huge items like that which can help fund programs worldwide. It seems really worthwhile. If you have extra cars or boats that you are no longer using the just donate them to a great cause! There’s no need for them to be sitting in your garage collecting dust over the year when you can give it to somewhere where it counts.

CarAngel.com also use some of the money raised to make videos for kids and teens. They have given away over 2.4 million videos. Check out one of the videos below.

Take a look at the website and donate boat or any of the other vehicle for a great and worthy cause that will benefit many in struggling countries. You could be an amazing angel in someone else’s life!

Vegas would be fun!

January 27th, 2008 |

I really wish I had the money to travel anywhere I wanted in the world. One of the places next to my top destination of Japan, would be Las Vegas.

Of course I would look for the best hotels in Vegas to stay at. I wouldn’t want to go cheap especially in that city. You never know what you would end up getting. LOL!

I’ve never been to a casino yet, so I would totally look out for the best ones especially with their winning percentages. Plus, I’d want to check out some night shows too. I think Toni Braxton still does singing somewhere, so I’d want to see that for sure!!

Squeaky Mattress

January 27th, 2008 |

When is it time for you to buy a new mattress? I wonder that sometimes. The one I have now is really great and shapes to your own body, but it’s getting kind of flat now.

The most annoying part is that it squeaks at the top part. The way I sleep, which really is weird since most people sleep in the traditional position, it squeaks A LOT!!. (I sleep on the top part but horizontal instead of vertically)…I know weird. LOL!

So the top part is always making noise whenever I move. It gets really annoying!! >_<

Traveling would be nice!

January 27th, 2008 |

It would be nice to travel the world. There are so many places I’d love to visit. Some of them include Japan, Europe, Hawaii, and even the Outer Banks.

Of course you have to have the money to do so, which I currently don’t at the moment. My money is being used to save up for either a car or for getting my own place (probably renting though).

It would be nice to get a penthouse suite. I saw some gorgeous ones in my city. They are way out of my price range, but man…they are AMAZING!!!

If I won the lotto, I’d probably make my own building and rent out places for other people. Everything luxurious though. I ain’t cheap you know. LOL!

Living like a celebrity

January 27th, 2008 |

One of the blogs I own is called “Girls Can Dream”. I personally dream of wealth almost everyday. Finances are constantly on my mind so I can keep track of what I can afford and what I can do without for the time buying.

Sometimes, and I’m sure everyone has dreamed this, it would be nice to have as much money as celebrities. Heck, I would go on a shopping spree buying jewelry, clothes, luxury watches, and a whole bunch of other things.

It would be nice to win the lottery and have the advantage of buying anything you want. *sigh* … one day I guess.

Owning a small business

January 27th, 2008 |

Among many of the things I wish to accomplish in this lifetime, one of them is owning my own business. Which business? I have no clue as of yet but it is something I want to do in the future.

Of course after a few years of owning a business, you should have a Small business valuation. That way, you can see just how much your business is really worth and if you could make a profit of selling it.

Most people consider their business their pride and joy. I might too if I loved it a lot. But, we’ll see how that goes in the future.

Vegas Baby!!

January 27th, 2008 |

I’m sure everyone has their own list of places their want to visit in their life. One of mine is Las Vegas!!

Why Vegas??? Well, I would love to experience the night life their have there, plus check in at a Vegas hotel and visit some casinos. Come on…you never know when you’ll win the jackpot!!

Vegas seems like a lot of fun, especially if you have money to waste. So for now, I won’t be going anytime soon as I have no money to waste. But I’m definitely going sometime in the future!!
