11 Practical Tips For Any Photographer

November 29th, 2007 |

I received an email at the beginning of the month from someone named Dana who gave me permission to reprint these 11 practical tips for any photographer – beginner or master – to keep in mind while taking digital photos.

  1. Using the sun to light your photos
Natural sunlight provides some of the best lighting for great shots with more vivid colors.
  2. Get Creative on gray days
Cloudy days can make colors pop against the gray sky, and the enhanced mood you create can be pretty interesting.
  3. Capture breathtaking evening photos
Turn off the flash, slow the shutter speed to let in more light and place your camera on a stationary object such as a tripod to reduce the blur.
  4. “Golden Hour” – a great time for some photo magic
Sunrise and sunset – referred to as the “Golden Hours” – create warm and inviting colors in your digital photos. Experiment with angles and zoom to find the perfect contrast of light.
  5. Get more effective flash photos
The flash’s range is 10 feet. Step back and zoom in on your subject. If you stand too close, the subject will be washed out. If you stand too far away, the subject will be too dark.
  6. Keep annoying “red-eye” out of your photos
Move into brighter light or have the subject not look directly at the lens to reduce the reflection of the flash off of the retina. Most new digital cameras offer automatic red-eye removal as an in camera feature.
  7. Move your subject for more compelling photos
Remember the Rule of Thirds, and don’t always have the subject in the center of the shot. If the photo doesn’t turn out perfectly, crop it later for better results.
  8. Change the angle for more impact
Change up the camera angle or perspective for unexpected photos that will attract more attention.
  9. Add more visual appeal to your shots
Create a frame around your subject to help them stand out. Frames also draw attention to your subject and add drama to an ordinary digital photo.
  10. Add depth and create interest with lines
Lines – such as using brick walls, sidewalks or fences – lead the eye right to the subject of the photo.
  11. The right background make a better photo
The right background can make a photo more interesting, but watch out for too much clutter or items that can compete with the subject of your photo.

My nephew the cry baby

November 29th, 2007 |

My nephew is probably one of the greatest things to happen since I got my dog back in 1998. He’s just the cutest thing ever! I was holding him today and then he started crying shortly after. I couldn’t help but laugh my head off as he was crying because his facial expressions were just too funny.

I had to literally call my mom over (who was in the other room), so she could take him and calm him down. I was laughing way too much and I felt bad afterwards…but he is a CRY BABY!! lol!!

Here are some photos of him below. See his facial expression in the second one? Too funny!! LOL!!

Is Lap-Band for you?

November 29th, 2007 |

Over the course of this month, I have been doing a lot of research, watching personal experiences on youtube, and just checking out my options in regard to getting lap-band surgery done. I’ve been the big kid all my life and it’s time for a change.

What is lap-band?
An adjustable gastric band is placed around the upper part of the stomach which fastens sort of like a wristwatch. It creates a new smaller stomach that will limit your food intake. This procedure allows you to feel full quickly, eat less, and help you lose the weight.

Journey Lite has helped numerous patients reach their ideal and healthy weight goal. They have procedures of lap-band los angeles, thousand oaks, Houston, and Tampa.

Check out their website for more information and enroll in a FREE seminar today!

Stray dogs kill woman! So sad…

November 29th, 2007 |

This is so sad. A woman who was walking her dog got mauled by a pack of stray dogs.

You have to go read the rest of this story. It’s heartbreaking. Don’t forget to check out the photo of one of the stray dogs. Look how vicious it looks!!

Geeze…I can’t imagine what she went through if it was a pack of dogs like that.

Xmas shopping

November 29th, 2007 |

Christmas is coming up faster than imagined. It’s already the end of November and I’m sure the weeks in December are just going to fly on by too.

So get yourself in check and start going Christmas shopping. With all the items you can choose from in the store, what is the one that’s on your top list? Mine…well…I’m not even quite sure. The majority of things I want for Christmas are movies or games. I also want a hand vacuum to suck up damn spiders. LOL!

Thinking about all the toys, clothing, electronics, Ingersoll Rand air tools, movies, games, chocolate, and other things people may get for Christmas, gives me a headache. I can’t imagine working at a huge department store during this time of the year. It must be REALLY busy!!

Arrgghh

November 29th, 2007 |

Arggh…I keep screwing up some of my drafts and entries I’m writing. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing anymore. Maybe I should go to bed or actually write a decent post.

[Edit:]
Anyways, sorry for my slight rant above, my evening hasn’t been to good. I just feel down for absolutely no reason. Nothing has happened or anything. It’s just this weird feeling I have. Like I don’t have enough stress and other things going on in my life.

Hey sugga sugga

November 29th, 2007 |

I went on a little sugar rush this past week and splurged on two containers of sweets. What did I get?? Delicious sour keys and gummy bears. I even took some photos which are below.

I blame Walmart for having them by the checkout. Damn…they called my name as I was waiting in line the other day. LOL! I better stay away from Walmart for a little while because I always end up buying things!! Eek.

Think you know about water?

November 28th, 2007 |

I’m sure you know some info about water, but not everything. That’s why you all should check out this website at AllAboutWater.org.

allaboutwater.jpg

After looking through the entire website, it really is a great resource for learning more about the water you drink and the process that takes place to make bottled water. There is even a section dedicated to the truth about bottled water in which you can learn the difference between bottled water and tap water. Take a look.

Are you addicted to shopping??

November 28th, 2007 |

Do you love shopping and want to find out what someone else thought about a product? Then you should check out ShoppingAddicted.com.

You can find a variety of reviews on ShoppingAddicted.com that deal with technology, shopping, clothing, and other things. You can even find some reviews for different shops.

The website itself looks rather no but don’t let that discourage you from visiting. Every blog must start somewhere.

After reading a few of the reviews and finding out about a website that has products for dogs, I must say I’m actually impressed. I can see the potential of this website becoming something big.

So bookmark it and keep checking back.
